Oh sweet baby Jesus, let this be accurate. According to a listing in the device catalog for the Google Play Developer Console, a new SHIELD TV from NVIDIA is coming.
Running Android 9 Pie and potentially powered by an upgraded Tegra processor, we’ve been hoping to get a new SHIELD TV for quite some time. This is funny because it’s not as if the current SHIELD TV is desperately in need of an upgrade or anything, we just like new hardware and the potential for new features.
The listings in the Developer Console really don’t provide much noteworthy info, considering all of it could be placeholder material. For now, we’ll just take it as a hint that a new Android TV-powered set-top box from NVIDIA could be coming, but until the company announces something, we shall remain calm.
If a new SHIELD TV does launch, will you be picking one up?
