Few Options Remain in an Android World That Used to be Littered With Choice

Few Options Remain in an Android World That Used to be Littered With Choice

Be Together. Not the Same.

There was a commercial Google put out a few years ago that really touched me. The main reason I enjoyed it was because it showcased funny animal pairings you wouldn’t usually see, such as a dog playing with an elephant and a sheep running alongside a rhino. Adorable, right? What Google was saying is, “Hey, we may all use different devices, but we still run the same Android OS.”

It’s great marketing, but as the years have gone on, the Android landscape has changed dramatically in the US and that same Be together. Not the same. message doesn’t quite resonate the same way it used to.

Since 2015, when that commercial hit the airwaves, we’ve essentially lost a few players in the Android game when it comes to the US market. Companies such as HTC and Sony have scaled back their smartphone plays. Motorola … Read the rest

OnePlus 7 Pro Gets a Hotfix Update to 9.5.10 to Fix Double-Tap to Wake Bug

Heads-up, OnePlus 7 Pro owners! The OxygenOS 9.5.9 update you might have received (or were scheduled to receive soon) has been halted and replaced by OxygenOS 9.5.10. This new update is a hotfix that aims to address a double-tap to wake bug from 9.5.9.

So the changelog remains the same as it was in 9.5.9 (see it here), but this new build simply fixes a bug. Got it?

To check for the new update, head into Settings>System>System>System Updates.

OnePlus’ Explorer Backpack No Longer Requires Invite to Buy

OnePlus’ Explorer Backpack No Longer Requires Invite to Buy

Guys, the OnePlus Explorer Backpack no longer needs a code or invite to be purchased!

I know this isn’t exactly a product we would normally share with you, but backpacks are dope and this one has been hard to get in hand. OnePlus introduced the Explorer last year alongside the OnePlus 6T, except it was only available to those with secret invite codes. I’ve kept an eye on it since, because I’m a backpack weirdo and noticed this week that you can straight-up buy it for the first time.

This particular backpack comes in black or green, fits a 15″ laptop, features a secret pocket for your phone, 8 pockets in total, and has a fun little magnetic locking buckle. It’s also somewhat water resistant.

For those not familiar with OnePlus backpacks, they are one of those random quality items they make that tech bros secretly love. I haven’t used … Read the rest

OnePlus, through a statement to their forums, said that they will perform an “in-depth investigation with the related teams to identify the cause.” They also pointed out that they use Google FCM (Firebase Cloud Messaging) for their push function and that your personal data is not at risk, nor … Read the rest
