Friday Poll: AMOLED Black Dark Mode or Darker Grey Dark Mode?

Friday Poll: AMOLED Black Dark Mode or Darker Grey Dark Mode?

I’ve discovered that Dark Mode means something different depending on who you ask. For example, Twitter’s initial Dark Mode was simply a darker grey background that I thought looked very nice and was very easy on the eyes. Now with Samsung and Google getting in on the Dark Mode, it apparently means Black Mode to them, something we’re calling AMOLED Black Dark Mode.

The difference between these two things, AMOLED Black Dark Mode and Darker Grey Dark Mode can be seen above in the header image.

For me, the AMOLED Black Dark Mode is just too darn dark. I much prefer a darker grey-colored Dark Mode. I don’t know if it has the same battery benefits as the darker Dark Mode has, but it’s what I prefer in terms of using throughout the day.

What’s your take? Which Dark Mode do or would you prefer?

Friday Poll: What’s Your Least Favorite Google Phone?

Friday Poll: What’s Your Least Favorite Google Phone?

Google has released a lot of phones over the years, but if we’re being brutally honest, which we typically always are, not all of them have been great.

To name a few examples, the Nexus 6 was waaaay too large for the time, the Nexus 4 lacked LTE, a few of them had poor camera experiences (Nexus 4, Galaxy Nexus), and I know some of you will probably say the Pixel 3 XL is super ugly with its notch.

So now, it’s time to vote! In your opinion, what Google phone is your least favorite? For extra credit, feel free to tell us why you feel this way in the comments below.

Monday Poll: What Has You Most Excited for Google I/O 2019?

Monday Poll: What Has You Most Excited for Google I/O 2019?

Google I/O 2019 kicks off tomorrow, but before that happens, we’re curious what topic you’re most looking forward to this year.

There are some great options, too. From what we expect, Google will announce the new Pixel 3a and Pixel 3a XL, a new beta for Android Q, more Google Stadia details, the Nest Hub Max, and probably more Google Assistant stuff.

Who knows, maybe Google even has a few tricks up its sleeve this year? Google I/O is always a blast.
