Now that the Android Q Beta 4 has been released to Pixel devices, you are probably wondering when you might see it on the other devices participating in the program. The answer is pretty simple for one phone – Essential has already pushed the update live to the Essential Phone. If you own an Essential Phone still and are in the Q beta program, it’s update time.
If you are not yet in the program, signing up is as simple as installing the Essential Q Beta app from Google Play and then filling out a form. Once you have been approved or verified, the update will appear as ready on your phone (Settings>System>Advanced>System update).
What about non-Pixel or Essential phones, when will they get the update? Google announced today that their partners “will also be updating their devices to Beta 4 over the coming weeks.” That means you might see an update quickly like we have from Essential or it could be further down the road.
To check on the status of your phone, be sure to follow through Google’s Android Q Beta devices page.
